Strobe Ignite — Ep 05 Recap: “Strobe Meets Arthur From Grove”
TL;DR
In episode five, we sat down with Arthur Sabintsev, CEO of Grove, to dive into why infrastructure partners are the backbone of Web3. From supporting the XRPL EVM Sidechain launch to powering RPC access across blockchains, Arthur shared Grove’s role in the Pocket Network ecosystem, lessons from being an infrastructure launch partner for projects like Ripple and Polygon, and why reliable infrastructure is as essential as the power grid for the internet.
Episode Summary
On this episode of Strobe Ignite, BD Lead George spoke with Arthur to explore Grove’s role in bringing reliable infrastructure to Web3 and why it matters for builders and users alike.
Arthur’s Journey
Arthur’s story begins in the late 1990s, learning to code, leading to roles across open-source projects, iOS development, and fintech (including Capital One). His engineering and product background eventually led him to Pocket Network and, later, to leading Grove as CEO.
What Grove Does
Grove is the engineering and business team behind the Pocket Protocol, a decentralized network that provides RPC (Remote Procedure Call) access to blockchains. In simpler terms, Grove ensures that applications can reliably connect to blockchains without each project needing to run costly infrastructure themselves.
“Web3 apps simply cannot exist without reliable RPC infrastructure.” — Arthur [20:25]
Launching the XRPL EVM Sidechain
As one of Ripple’s infrastructure launch partners, Grove brought enterprise-grade reliability to the XRPL EVM Sidechain. Their experienced team supported Strobe and other partners from testnet to mainnet, resolving issues quickly and providing 24/7 reliability. Grove has also served as a launch partner for Polygon’s zkEVM and other major chains.
Why Infrastructure Matters
Arthur emphasized that infrastructure is like the power lines of the internet, invisible but essential. Without providers like Grove, DeFi protocols, wallets, and dApps would struggle to operate at scale. By incentivizing node operators globally through the Pocket Network, Grove helps decentralize and scale blockchain access.
What’s Next for Grove
Looking ahead, Grove’s focus is on decentralizing demand by building reference clients and encouraging more gateways to plug directly into Pocket. The long-term vision: Grove as just one of many demand drivers in a fully self-sustaining, decentralized infrastructure layer for Web3.
Advice for Builders
Arthur closed with a reminder to focus on conviction and long-term value:
“If you’re not working on a project you truly believe in, this industry isn’t for you. Commit to what you believe in, the rest is noise.” — Arthur [43:04]
About Grove
Grove is the core engineering and business team behind the Pocket Network Protocol. By providing decentralized RPC infrastructure, Grove helps projects access blockchains globally with enterprise reliability. Grove has been a launch partner for Ripple, Polygon, Defi Kingdoms, and more, serving as essential infrastructure across Web3.
About Our Guest, Arthur Sabintsev
Arthur Sabintsev is CEO of Grove and a long-time open-source developer. With a career spanning iOS development, fintech, and open-source contributions to Firefox, Arthur now leads Grove’s mission of making Web3 infrastructure as reliable and accessible as today’s internet.
